We are so excited to announce our first trip of the year!!
We have been given the amazing opportunity to visit the Geological Survey’s core storage facility in Sandyford on the 30th of October. We’ll be getting a tour of the facility and will learn about how they analyse the cores and what rock properties the investigators are looking for in each case. We might even get to see a core drilled for gold exploration along the Wexford-Wicklow border!
The trip is free of charge – HOWEVER, spaces are limited as we can only bring 20 people and we will be taking public transport to the facility (it’s only 35 minutes from campus!)
If you’re interested in coming along and getting a look into the world of geology, keep an eye on our Instagram because we’ll be sending around a form so you can register your interest and be guaranteed a spot. The 20 people that are coming will be sent a separate email with further details.
We hope to see you there :))
