Χαιρε, Salvete, and welcome to the 119th session of the UCD Classical Society! Founded in 1906, we are one of the oldest societies on campus. Through all those years, our society has focused on bringing the discipline of Classics – and its components of mythologies, history, and ancient literature – closer to UCD’s student body.
From arts and crafts, trivia & game nights, study sessions, and book clubs all the way to academic seminars, we host events that are open to all students, whether they have a background in Classics or not. The society places a deep emphasis on fostering a welcoming environment suitable and supportive for all.
We are fortunate to be so close to UCD’s very own Classical Museum, which we visit regularly. This museum is Ireland’s largest collection of classical antiquities and it is certain you will find your own favourite among the coins, figurines, pottery, and all other artifacts!
So, come on by and explore all we have to offer – we are waiting to welcome you!
