UCD Medical Society (MedSoc) is one of the largest and most active faculty societies on campus, welcoming members from across all UCD programs. MedSoc offers a dynamic blend of academic and social events throughout the year, including career information evenings, USMLE advisory sessions, medical case competitions, guest lectures, social nights out, and popular sporting events such as the annual “Med Cup” soccer tournament and 5-a-side leagues. The highlight of the year is our renowned MedBall—UCD’s largest society ball.
Charity work is at the heart of what we do. Every October, hundreds of medical students take to the streets of Dublin on Med Day, raising funds for our chosen charities through large-scale bucket collections. In the second semester, we host a major charity event—previously including crowd favourites like White Collar Boxing and Take Me Out.
MedSoc also supports a growing network of affiliated groups that reflect the diverse interests of our members. These include the Student Medical Journal, SurgSoc, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), PaedSoc, and Emerg Soc.
