The UCD Eastern European Society (UCDEES) is a community that connects students from across Eastern Europe: the Balkans, the Slavic countries, and the Baltics – as well as anyone interested in our region’s cultures, traditions, and languages. We are currently in our 3rd session
We bring together people who want to celebrate and share the diversity of Eastern Europe through social and cultural events. Our activities include collaborations with other societies and cultural groups, parties that showcase Eastern European music and atmosphere, relaxed coffee mornings, karaoke nights, film screenings, quizzes, traditional dance classes, eastern european arts and crafts, language exchanges and gatherings that mark important holidays, Eurovision themed events, and traditions celebrating every Eastern European country.
The society is open to everyone. Whether you grew up in Eastern Europe or are simply curious about it, UCDEES offers a space to meet new people, exchange stories, and experience what makes our part of the world distinctive. It’s a place to feel connected, to belong, and to celebrate culture with others who understand it. Join us to get a taste of home here on campus!
