We are UCD Music Society!
This society circulates around music appreciation, and provide the opportunity for students from all musical backgrounds to practice, play and perform in a safe and encouraging space. We do what we can at UCD Music Society to facilitate artists wanting to move from student to industry level and aim to create as many opportunities for talent recognition as possible.
The biggest events in the society are Battle of the Bands, as a collab with Hot Press Magazine, and UCD society Council in which UCD student-bands compete during Fresher’s week, Tuesday 15th of September 2026. We also host a range of weekly events, such as Jam Sessions, Open Mic Nights, Songwriting Sessions, Workshops, a Contemporary Choir and Big Band Ensambles. Ever thought of learning or improving playing Piano or Guitar lessons, then you are at the right society! Or are you interested in listening to explore new or old music? We love to see new faces at our weekly events.
For the academic year of 2026/2027 you can expect events such as band speed-dating for those who want to join a band, start a band or even for bands who are looking for new members. There will be more band gig nights and we wish to give as many opportunies to UCD Bands to perform.
