The Newman Catholic Society encourages and supports Catholic belief on campus, promoting faith formation and an opportunity to meet others who are interested in learning more about the faith.
Our society holds a variety of events throughout the year including prayer meetings, retreats, inspiring talks, Bible studies, discussions, movie screenings, social evenings and excursions. We are a vibrant community on campus, and are welcoming towards those of all faiths and none.
Our 6pm “Newman Night” has always been a staple of The Newman Catholic Society. Students come along to the chaplaincy to chat with friends both new and old and to discuss faith and non-faith issues alike, while sharing a freshly-cooked meal together. Talks are given each week on a wide variety of topics related to the Catholic faith which are always thought-provoking and lead to some great conversations. We then have a short time of prayer, followed by games, quizzes and chats. We would love for you to join us!
“If we follow the voice of God, we shall be brought step by step into a new world, of which before we had no idea.”
In the face of the many trials that student life can bring, we seek to live the quoted words of St John Henry Newman, founder of UCD, in a spirit of trust and joy, as we make together our pilgrimage of faith.
You can you keep up to date with us on Facebook, Instagram and through our weekly email.
