About Our Society

Do you revel in the weird? Do you enjoy dissecting difficult problems? We’re the society for you!

Whether you’re a turtleneck-wearing philosopher or you just enjoy thinking deeply, we invite you to join us!

Founded in 1965, the Philosophy Society serves to encourage learning, thinking, and discussion of philosophical ideas. We’ve invited interesting guest speakers like Noam Chomsky and Norman Finkelstein, and we regularly host events that invite discussion and philosophical inquiry about countless topics. You can find us on most social media at @UCDPhilSoc.
