Dr. Buckley is an Associate Professor at the University of Galway and an internationally recognised scholar in the field of modern Irish social history, particularly in the fields of gender history, feminist history, the history of childhood and youth and child welfare.

Alongside this Dr. Buckley is the Chair of the Irish History Student’s Association (IHSA) and past President of the Women’s History Association of Ireland.
