this Wednesday October 16th at 19:00 to witness history live in the FitzGerald Chamber.

The Anglo Irish Treaty 1921 brought an end to the Irish War of Independence 1919-1921 and the
various controversies surrounding it sparked a subsequent the Irish Civil War 1922-1923. Whether
you have an encyclopedic knowledge of the Anglo-Irish Treaty or know nothing about it this debate
promises to be an entertaining and educational evening.
Six speakers will be thrashing out the most contentious issue of Irish history, whether Dáil Éireann
should adopt the Anglo-Irish Treaty 1921. The debate will be historically accurate as the speakers
will not be permitted to reference any event or fact beyond January 1922. The historical
accuracy of these debates will be ensured by our team of fact checkers. For a bit of added
atmosphere and drama historically accurate heckles will be distributed to the audience.
The historical event of the Treaty debates provided Irish history with some of its most iconic
moments and its foremost examples of rhetorical excellence, we hope to mirror the drama and
gravity of those debates this coming Wednesday. We are really hoping to pack out the FitzGerald
Chamber to create an excellent atmosphere so we really hope to see you there for the best debate
