About The Kevin Barry Cumann

KBC Logo

The Kevin Barry Cumann (KBC) is the UCD branch of Fianna Fáil – the Republican Party. Originally formed as a Cumann for all Dublin universities, the Cumann was established as a UCD society in 1956 by Gerry Collins. The KBC is named after Kevin Barry, a UCD medical student who was executed during the war of independence.

Since then, the KBC has quickly established itself as the largest and most active political society on campus, running events such as the annual Hot Whiskey Night, Dáil tours, European Parliament trips, along with many other events.

Joining the Cumann gives you the opportunity to meet public representatives from councillors to minsters. It also gives you the chance to travel and see places like Dáil Éireann, Stormont and the European Parliament. Finally, joining the Cumann creates an opportunity to meet people from all across the island and further afield who have similar interests.

So if that sounds like your kind of thing, you should…

Join for the Craic and Stay for the Party!
