Founded 170 years ago, as old as the university itself, the Literary and Historical Society is UCD’s debating union. Our activities include international competitive debating, weekly house debates held in UCD’s Fitzgerald Chamber and social events for members.
The L&H is also home to the James Joyce Award, given to those who have achieved outstanding success in their field. Past recipients include Will Ferrell, John Hume, Noam Chomsky, Alex Ferguson and Nancy Pelosi. Find us at our Freshers Stand from the 16th-20th of September!
