Netsoc is proudly sponsored by Stripe, Amazon & Microsoft.
UCD Netsoc is UCD’s Internet and Computer Science society. Netsoc was established in 1995 with the mission of making internet access available to the students of UCD. With the ubiquity of the internet, Netsoc now serves as a forum for computer science and tech-interested students to network, learn, and socialize. We regularly run talks from leading technology companies. We provide opportunities for students to learn new skills and showcase their ability in regional and international coding competitions. Our members can also avail of free server access so that they can host their own websites and do remote complex computation.
Membership is open to all students and staff at UCD. Although our primary membership is computer science students, we welcome anyone with any level of experience and from any course with open arms. We want to create an environment that is inclusive of all genders, races, ethnicities, sexualities, ages, and disabilities.
In 2018/19 we were awarded Small Society of the Year and in 2019/20 we were awarded Society Event of the Year for our tech conference, ‘SISTEM 2020’, by UCD Societies.
